Fylde Mark No 296 held a Strawberry Tea on Sunday 23rd June,

hosted by Vera, widow of the late W. Bro John Venus P.G.St.B.

John had always supported Fylde Marks charity efforts by regularly hosting similar events in the summer and Vera thought it fitting to keep the event in the calendar, John was fondly remembered on the day.

The P.G.M. and Mrs Lynne Connolly attended in support of the event, the proceeds of which will go to the Kevan Beardmore Memorial Fund which will support the refurbishment of the lower Lodge Room at Adelaide St Blackpool, where Fylde Mark meets.

Jane Beardmore attended and brought excellent shortbread biscuits to go with the Strawberries and Ice Cream, desert for the wonderful buffet high tea supplied by Vera, assisted by David Bell (Prov.A.G.D.C) and his wife Liz.

Dep. P.G.M., Keith Beardmore and June made the cream cakes which, as you can see, the P.G.M. though well worth trying.

The event raised £240 but more importantly Kevan and John were remembered by all who attended.

Two Further events to support this cause are planned and posted on the website , a Golf Day 10th July Staining Golf Club Blackpool and a Sunday Brunch 11th August at the home of Dep P.G.M. Keith Beardmore.
